    Lalique Bacchantes 2017 bottle

The Bacchantes Vase is undoubtedly one of Lalique’s most famous crystal creations. It is also one of the rare pieces whose presence in the brand’s catalog has continued since its creation in 1927. Lalique has this time decided to make it available in a perfume bottle. This is part of Lalique’s Cristal Collection and contains a floral and oriental flavor intended for the fairer sex. Everything was made by perfumer Sophia Grosjman in collaboration with the Master Glassmakers of Cristallerie Lalique located in Wingen-Sur-Moder, in Alsace.

The myth of the Bacchantes revisited by Lalique

The Bacchantes are creatures from mythology, women celebrating the mysteries of Dionysus or Bacchus. They would then run half-naked, their heads crowned with ivy, thyrcos in their hands, dancing and recalling the triumph of Bacchus over the giants. Also, it is precisely their naked body that we find on the Vase des Bacchantes as well as on the new Lalique bottle. The Bacchantes Vase was created in 1927. It was first made in glass before being reinterpreted in crystal in 1947. This is a work requiring colossal work. To be more precise, know that it takes no less than 30 hours to achieve this masterpiece of precision. Also, since 1994, Lalique tradition has required that one perfume per year pays tribute to the most beautiful creations of the brand. The Collection des Flacons de Cristal was initiated by Marie-Claude Lalique in 1994 to pay tribute to the birth of the house’s first feminine perfume. The Crystal Bacchantes Collection Bottle was thus preceded by “Deux Paons” in 2014, by “Plume” in 2015 and by “Anémone” in 2016. The whole is very inspired by the representation of the female body, an object that sparked René’s creativity. Lalique throughout his career. The oriental and floral flavor contained in the Cristal Bacchantes Collection bottle

On the fragrance side, this bottle contains a real boost of femininity to match its visual appeal. This one was developed by Sophia Grosjman, a renowned perfumer whose career has been rewarded many times. The latter has chosen to open its flavor with a floral blend of iris, jasmine and rose. Nevertheless, this elegant romanticism is counterbalanced by the spicier facet of the clove. Thus, Lalique’s perfume is intended for women of character. Then, its smell evolves towards more fruity nuances based on blackberry, pear and blackcurrant. Everything then heats up in its wake, releasing scents of musk, sandalwood and vanilla behind it.

The Crystal Bacchantes Collection bottle will be available from the beginning of 2017. It will be manufactured in 1500 copies. Each of them will be signed and numbered, to the delight of collectors. However, if you plan to get this little gem, know that you will have to pay the tidy sum of € 1,200.
